By Bruno Lucchesi. Mr. Lucchesi's second video is a demonstration of a portrait bust in terra cotta, filmed at his studio in New York. Mr Lucchesi takes the viewer through the entire process of creating a portrait bust in terracotta. It features his son, Paul Lucchesi, an artist of some international fame himself, as the model. One of the most amazing videos on clay. He begins by covering an armature with an aluminum can, newspaper and plastic. This technique creates bulk without weight, one of many secrets shared as the tape progresses. Mr. Lucchesi's knowledge of bone and muscle is apparent as the face is formed. The model's elaborate hairstyle is balanced by adding the shoulder and shirt. The viewer is there as the fired piece is lifted from the kiln and fastened on the base. Mr. Lucchesi than applies the patina, explaining the effect he wishes to achieve. From bare armature to finished piece, he explains and demonstrates the techniques which have made him one of the world's most respected sculptors. Running Time 104 min. See book by the same author.
