5 Day Class in the summer!
August 17-21 10am-6pm with an hour break for lunch
Working directly from a live model and using a step by step approach, students can choose to sculpt the full figure, torso, or portrait bust.
In this course students of all levels will sculpt from direct observation of a model in one pose over 5 class sessions. Students will learn a logical approach to developing the observational skills needed to create an accurate and dynamic figure sculpture. No previous experience is necessary.
The sculpture will be created in water-based
Emphasis will be on understanding proportion, gesture, anatomy, and clay modeling. Each student will receive quality instruction with a special attention to maximizing individual potential.
The teaching method will include, sculpting demonstrations, individual instruction, and group discussions.
Each step will be demonstrated and guided throughout the class. The small class structure will enable more one on one attention to students.
Chad Fisher is the Director of the Sculpture Program at Lyme Academy. Through his studio/personal foundry, Chad has created over 30 public sculptures. Fisher studied at the UPenn Pennsylvania Academy, Janus Collaborative Barnstone Studios and Schulykill Academy.
