Sculpting OR Drawing from Life - Drop-In Sessions
Drop into our ongoing life-modeling sessions at your convenience. Sculpt directly from the live model. Individualized instruction is tailored to ability in a relaxed atmosphere suitable for all levels of experience. Emphasis is placed upon practical study and application of traditional proportional thinking, clay modeling techniques, and understanding how our underlying anatomical structure informs our universal and individual physical characteristics.
Poses featured during these sessions do not require the use of an armature to support hand-building techniques. Classes are suitable for absolute beginners.
Armatures not required for ‘quick-sketch’
Materials Included:
-- Water-based clay (oil-based clay available for purchase if this is your preferred material)
-- Model fee
-- Bring your tool kit (if you have one) and wear clothes you do not mind getting dirty. Additional tools are always available for purchase at TCS.

Sculpting from Life - Six Week Subscription
This six week class explores the fundamental techniques of figure sculpture as a tradition by working directly with the live model. Individualized instruction is tailored to ability in a relaxed atmosphere suitable for all levels of experience. Emphasis is placed upon practical study and application of traditional proportional thinking, clay modeling techniques, and understanding how our underlying anatomical structure informs our universal and individual physical characteristics.
The extended class will feature three different poses for a varied learning experience; one single week maquette, a two week pose, and a three week final project.

-- Water-based clay (oil-based clay available for purchase if this is your preferred material)
