250401 Figure Sculpture: Modeling from Life - Female Figure With Meg Ambroise

This is a 5 week class that meets on Tuesdays. 5-8pm (see scheduled dates below)

Welcome to Figure Sculpture!

Beginners and masters alike!

This 5 week class will explore the fundamental techniques and traditions of figure sculpture working directly with the live model. Individualized instruction is tailored to  ability in a relaxed atmosphere Advanced and self-directed approaches are encouraged. Emphasis will be placed upon the systematic study of proportions, basic anatomy, composition and gesture.  Working in water based clay, directly from a live model. students will have the opportunity to create finished and fired terracotta sculptures with a variety of finishing techniques demonstrated as well. If you would like to upgrade to plastilene we will have it and an armature available for purchase of the first day of class.

Basic materials are included in the class fee; clay and tools. Please bring your tool kit (if you have one) and wear clothes you do not mind getting dirty to the first day of classes.
