Clear Guard

8oz is only available in regular Satin and Matte.  EF and Black start at 32oz.

Clear Guard is a crystal clear, durable, air drying lacquer that results in a hard, fast drying, and tarnish resistant film. It has excellent adhesion to bronze, brass, copper, and other metals as well as to patinas and rusted metal. Clear Guard is suitable for use with all types of application equipment. Once thinned, it may be used with sprayers.

Because of its unique chemistry, orange peel is virtually non-existent. Clear Guard is UV stable and highly resistant to weather, water, and chemical damage. It also resists marring and perspiration better than most solvent lacquers.

Clear Guard is made in both normal and environmentally friendly formulas. It is sold in 12oz. spray cans or 8oz., 32oz., 1 gal., and 5 gal. containers in both satin and matte finishes. Clear Guard is also available in a pre-thinned, ready to spray formula in 32oz., 1 gal., and 5 gal. containers. One gallon of Clear Guard generally covers 250 sq. ft. per coat. Two coats are recommended.

Clear Guard Black is a zero VOC tinted acrylic laquer that darkens and protects metal in one step. The black is slightly transparent, and the shine is matte to resemble a natural metal finish. Clear Guard Black is a ready to spray formula so there is no need to thin. However, you can mix Clear Guard Black with Clear Guard or Clear Guard EF before spraying to increase transparency. Allow 1 hour to cure between coats and at least 48 hours to dry before applying a sealer.

Clear Guard Black produces excellent results on most metals, including copper, brass, bronze, steel, aluminum, stainless, and zinc/galvanized. For additional protection or to adjust the sheen of the finish, layer with additional coats of Satin or Matte Clear Guard or Clear Guard EF. If the installation will be outdoors or in a wet environment, we recommend Ever Clear or Hydro Clear to protect the finish.

Clear Guard Black is available in 12oz. spray cans and 32oz., 1 gallon, and 5 gallon containers. One gallon will typically cover 250 sq. ft.
