Makeup & SFX artist Ali Gordon with guest Face Offs Tate Steinsiek
Will be bringing his Somedevil FX Workshops to New York holding a
Dedicated to a monster of your choice. In this 9 day class, you will create a full-bust silicone pull over appliance.
Led by Irish makeup FX artist Ali Gordon (Puppet Master, Castle Freak, Hellraiser, Glow Up Ireland [Judge]) and guest artists Tate Steinsiek (Face Off Season 1 & 5, Spiderman, Puppet Master, Castle Freak)
This class is perfect for both beginners and those with experience. We will lead you through the design process to sculpting and molding. Then casting your appliance in silicone, and finally – application.
Low-key and light-hearted, these workshops are a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for you to create movie-quality characters.
The breakdown for the week is as follows :
*DAY 1: INTRO TO DESIGN AND CONCEPT
*DAY 2: INTRO TO SCULPTING TECHNIQUES
*DAYS 3 & 4 : SCULPTING.
*DAY 5 & 6: INTRO TO TWO PART MOLD MAKING, MOLD MAKING
*DAY 7: SILICONE CASTING & SEAMING,
*Day 8: PAINTING /AIRBRUSHING/DETAILING TECHNIQUES
*DAY 9: CHARACTER ADDITIONS / HAIR PUNCHING/COSTUME DISTRESSING/PROP ACESSORIES
Course date :April 8-17 11am-6pm
Please note all classes are non refundable due to payments on orders and other cost in preparation for the workshop.
We will supply all materials and airbrushes for the duration of the workshop but you will need to bring some wooden sculpting tools, art brushes, baby wipes and towels. We recommend you wear old clothes as is a messy process
