5 Session Sculpting Class - Hands and Feet Mondays from 1-4pm (see dates below)
Well-sculpted hands and feet give your artwork an added vitality and emotional power! In this workshop you will sculpt a life-size (or larger)
hand and foot working from observation of an anatomical plaster cast. You will gain an understanding of the underlying skeletal and muscular structure
of the hand and foot.
A step-by-step sculpting demo by the instructor will show you how to develop your observational skills and how to model with clay using an
additive sculpting method. This class is suitable for all skill levels.
This is a great class if you have never sculpted before and would like to gain some confidence and technical skills before attempting to sculpt a
portrait. There will be an opportunity to either dry and fire your clay sculptures at a local ceramic studio or you can take a mold making class at

Oil based clay. I suggest “Le Beau Touche” by Chavant. Buy (2) 2lb bricks Clay modeling tools. I will have some tool available for you to use on the
first day of class so you can try different ones before you make a purchase.
