    • Briefly explain the process of gypsum from quarry to bagging.

    • Give an overview of the USG products available
    • Explain the different kinds of materials weakest to strongest.
    • Explain consistency as it pertains to strength and water usage.
  • Mixing Demonstrations
    • Show different mixing vessels for mixing plaster.
    • Show the preferred mixer.

 

    • Moulding Plaster or another beta plaster
      • Hand out premeasured plaster and water to class in Dixie cups.
      • Demonstrate the proper hand mix technique and let class participate. 
      • Class pours the mixed product into the empty cup.
      • Demonstrate the proper machine mix technique and have a member of the class assist.

 

    • Hydro-Stone or another alpha plaster
      • Hand out premeasured plaster and water to class in Dixie cups.
      • Demonstrate the proper hand mix technique and let class participate.
